What is the Platinum Jubilee ASHA Scholarship Scheme implemented by SBI Foundation?

The SBI Platinum Jubilee ASHA Scholarship Scheme is an ambitious scholarship scheme implemented by SBI Foundation with the aim of ensuring that students from talented families and economically backward families should not be deprived of education due to financial problems and that today’s young generation should also have access to quality higher education.

With the aim of ensuring that the education of students from poor and economically backward families does not stop halfway, SBI launched the Platinum Jubilee ASHA Scholarship Scheme in 2022. This educational assistance will be available to students from school education (9-12) to ITI, IIM, UG, PG, MBBS and students studying abroad in the current academic year.

₹100 crore has been allocated in the current financial year for 25,007 talented students from economically backward families studying in the year 2026-27.

Project Objective:

Students should not cut their education short due to financial hardship and poverty. With the aim of motivating students from poor and economically backward families to pursue ITI, MBBS, and IIM education in prestigious institutions, the Platinum Jubilee ASHA Scholarship Scheme has been implemented. Under this scheme, scholarships are provided to students from school education to graduation, medical degree, and studying abroad according to the courses they have chosen.

Eligible Beneficiary Students:

  • Students must have obtained 75% or 7.5 CGP marks in the last academic year.
  • The annual income of the family of the school students should not exceed ₹3,00,000/-.
  • The annual family income of students pursuing higher education should not exceed ₹6,00,000/-.
  • Students must have taken admission in an accredited or prestigious educational institution.
  • School students must have taken admission in recognized government or private schools.
  • Students must have taken admission in 9th class, 12th class, degree, IIM, ITI, MBBS courses and must be studying in a foreign educational institution.
