The Karnataka Examination Authority has issued a recruitment notification for the vacant Group B posts of Assistant Horticulture Officer and Assistant Horticulture Director in the Welfare Karnataka Cadre and Remaining Primary Cadres of the Horticulture Department (KSHD). Assistant Horticulture Officer:

Candidates applying for the posts of Assistant Horticulture Officer should have a degree in Horticulture from a university legally established in India and compulsorily recognized by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research.

Assistant Director of Horticulture:

Age limit details:

As per the current recruitment notification, candidates applying for the posts of Assistant Horticulture Officer and Assistant Horticulture Director should have a minimum age limit of 18 years and a maximum age limit of 40 years.

Age relaxation details:

As per the government regulations, candidates belonging to various categories are given 5 years relaxation in the maximum age limit. Accordingly, the maximum age limit that candidates should have is as follows.

Selection Process:

Competitive Exam:

Candidates will be given a competitive examination in the first stage either online or offline. This examination will consist of two papers, each carrying 300 marks. The first paper will contain questions on general knowledge, while the second paper will contain questions on horticulture subjects. A total of 2 hours will be allotted for this examination, and candidates will have to score 35% marks. And 0.75 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Kannada Language Test:

A Kannada language test is conducted for the candidates who have qualified in the competitive examination. This is applicable only to the candidates who have not studied Kannada as a first or second language up to the SSLC level. This test carries a total of 150 marks, of which candidates have to score 50 marks.
