What is Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana?
Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) is a maternity benefit scheme implemented under the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India. Under this scheme, pregnant and lactating women can avail the benefit of Rs. 5000 in two installments in the name of the first living child, Rs. 3000/- in the first installment and Rs. 2000/- in the name of the second living child and only if the second child is a girl, they can avail the subsidy of Rs. 6000/-.

- Women workers in the unorganized sector holding e-Shram Card and women belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes will be given first priority under the scheme.
- Women in government employment in the Central and State Government sectors are not eligible to apply for this scheme.
