Karnataka State Education Department has issued a recruitment notification for filling up 15000 vacant posts of teachers in the current year. Out of the total posts, 6967 posts have been allocated to Kalyan Karnataka and 8033 posts have been allocated to the remaining basic cadre. It is mandatory for the candidates applying for these posts to have a minimum age limit of 21 years to 40 years.

Educational qualification:
Candidates applying for the posts of teacher should have passed graduation in the relevant discipline from a recognized university with at least 50% marks. In addition to this, candidates should have completed B.Ed, D.Ed or B.Ed or D.Ed in Special Education and must have qualified in the Teacher Eligibility Test-II.
Note: “There will be a relaxation of 5% in the marks scored in the degree for SC/ST, PWD and Category-1 candidates, so it is sufficient for candidates belonging to these categories to have scored 45% marks in the degree.”
Age limit details:
Candidates applying for the 15,000 vacant teacher posts in the Karnataka Education and Literacy Department must be between the minimum age of 21 years and the maximum age of 40 years.
Age relaxation details:
- There will be a relaxation of three years in the upper age limit for candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes 2A, 2B, 3A, 2B.
- SC/ ST, Category-I candidates will have a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit.

Salary scale:
Candidates selected for the posts of teachers will be given an approximate monthly salary of Rs. 44,425/- to Rs. 99,400/- as per the 7th Pay Commission of the Government of Karnataka, depending on the post.
